M. Kamil Saruhan was operating Şifa Pharmacy. His son, Salim Saruhan, left the medical faculty and transfer to Faculty of Pharmacy in order to continue his father’s business. He took over the pharmacy right after his graduation.
Salim Saruhan founded the Doğu Pharmaceutical Warehouse in Trabzon and started the distribution of pharmaceuticals all over Black Sea Region.
Saba Pharmaceutical Company was founded.
The first steps towards the foundation of Doğsan. All investments were completed within this year.
Doğsan, the first suture factory of Turkey, Middle East and Balkan states, started production. The very first product of Doğsan had been catgut whose production have continued for many years.
Doğsan started the production of synthetic sutures as an addition to existing catgut production.
Doğsan brought its expertise abroad by founding a factory in Uzbekistan.
Doğsan received ISO 9002 Quality System Certificate.
Doğsan received ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Certificate.
Doğsan received 93/42/EEC conformity certificate for Class 2B products Silk (İpek) and Daylon.
Doğsan received 93/42/EEC conformity certificate for Class 3 products Propilen, Trofilen and Politer.
Doğsan received 93/42/EEC conformity certificate for synthetic absorbable sutures Pegesorb, Pegesorb rapid, Pegelak, Pegelak rapid, Tekmon and Pedesente.
